Logo of Oxford City Shotokan Karate Club

OCSKC & Safeguarding

We are very proud to be able to show this logo. It has been awarded to the club because of our ongoing commitment to safeguarding in sport. Every JKA England club chief instructor HAS to have an up-to-date DBS certification, first aid qualification, and undergo continued child protection training as a matter of course.

We have gone one further and been awarded the Safeguarding in Sport “mark” - recognised by Sport England.
For more on this, please visit their site.

What this means in practice:

If you have any issue regarding child protection, the first person to talk to is Sensei Martyn (the designated child protection lead for the club). He can vbe reached at the number below, or complete the “contaxct us” form, or of course, see him in lessons. If for any reason you don’t want to talk to him, then Sensei Bjarke is designated back up. If you want to talk to someone outside the club, then JKA England child protection officer is Martin Dobson. safeguarding@jka-england.org
